eSanjeevani: Online teleconsultations soar

At present, eSanjeevani records over 8500 consultations a day. States are extending the reach of specialised health services to the people in smaller towns and rural areas. The platform is operational at 4000 centres linked with over 175 hubs. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s telemedicine initiative, eSanjeevani, has crossed six lakh teleconsultations. Albendazole tablet, approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), is used for the treatment of intestinal worms in children and adolescents as part of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) programmes globally. Soil-Transmitted Helminthiases (STH), also known as parasitic intestinal worm infection, is a significant public health concern mostly in low resource settings.
