Are we homo-sapiens or hetero-sapiens?

It seemed we were trying to mend what historians missed over thousands of years. The out-phase of the Neanderthals by assimilation into homo sapiens draws a parallel line with our attempt to integrate the tribal classes with mainstream society. By the term “tribal”, we used to mean Adivasis. That means aboriginals. In a sense, the term can be rationally interpreted as “predecessor” or the first occupant. The derivation of the mainstream class could be traced to them. Doesn’t that mean the non-tribal segment is only their successors? Is it to the first occupants that we, the successors calling ourselves the mainstream, teach lessons of a good life for integrating with the mainstream? Somewhere there is something wrong! The term tribe is derived from Latin “tribus” which meant “a grou...

The trap of luxuries that come free of cost when the old is thrown out

Our excitement over amazing things is waning because we get them free and effortlessly to over-use or abuse them. The gap between childhood memories and accessibility to those wonders speaks about how we have closed the distance between a safe zone and a risky zone. It also speaks of how mercilessly we abandon the possession that we were once proud of. As the world is shrinking, we have compressed our luxuries on a device that we carry in our pocket. Nonetheless, that is a trap on which we have pawned our privacy and secrecy.   Sometimes we feel regret over some of our past experiences. Just like homesickness. The memory of childhood with a fascination for something new brings inexplicable joy. The fabulous Kotak camera still flashes the memory of the 80-90s. The brilliant tape recorde...

Invest wisely to make yourself wealthier

You can be rich if you dream so by developing a practice of investing at an early age prudently. Everything that one earns is not entirely for spending alone. Today’s profligacy will make you poor tomorrow, or overnight when the economy downturns. The only way to be all-weather rich is to be a good investor by parking a predetermined sum in the right Asset Allocation. A qualified/Experienced investment advisor would spend his time to suggest, manage and enlighten you to keep your investment safe and growing. Many people who were earning well until recently, suddenly turned penniless. It is not merely their profligacy that has made them penniless overnight, but their inadequate knowledge of how to allocate their earnings. They believed they were earning money only to spend. They need a ...

Social media Vs Govt Vs public ???

What is known as smart in our hands is making us daft. A licensed surgery upon our privacy, like prescriptions of wrong medicines that kill us, would finish all the bets. I still vividly remember my first time with WhatsApp, which is today’s most popular social media. My button phone was changed into a smartphone that was compatible with the App. One day, one of my friends said he sent me a message, which I didn’t see. As usual, I was searching for it in the message inbox. The message was on WhatsApp, which I couldn’t make out. Today such an experience is laughable. Isn’t it? Like me, most of the people of my generation too might have a similar story to share. We came far from the formative days and made it an inseparable part of our life! That is a strange lady we cannot keep away....

Who will bell the cat?

It is high time to open a debate on how well modern medicine saved human lives andhow well its business grew to leave behind an increasing number of patients. Druggiants thrived on the sickness of people. There is no count of deaths caused by a drugreaction, drug overdose and drug resistance. This fact has never come to light also.Let’s pray for a commission of inquiry into the medical genocide. Historians believe human life has been in existence on earth since millions of years ago. Jeanne Clement, born in 1875 and died in 1997, proved a human being can live up to 122 years. Many living examples have proved human beings can live for more than 100 years. No one exactly knows, other than playing a guessing game, how long human beings lived in the pre and post-historic period. Agein...

Reliance Industries

A model of employee care against misfortunes India’s largest private firm and Asia’s richest couple Mukesh and Nita through communication to their colleagues have announced Reliance Family Support and Welfare Scheme. The soul-touching communication was packed with a liberal social protection scheme that would take absolute care of all its deceased employees. Let our politician note, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries in a communication jointly issued by Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani on a caption “WE CARE: Honouring the Promise of One Reliance Family” informed its employees that “as One Reliance Family, each one's loss is irreplaceable and bears heavily on our collective consciousness.” Communication, in the context of many people’s death by the pandemic, bears great impor...

Why Modi is undefeatable?

Not as a politician, but as an insuperably brilliant to sit on an integrated pool of citizens’ details, Modi will continue to win the polls as long as he wants to stay in power. The days of winning elections through high-pitched campaigns have gone. It is proven. Smart rulers cannot be replaced so easily, because they know the strengths and weaknesses well as the preferences and interests of each individual. They have successfully explored within the realm of citizens' psychology and moved their coins on the playing board accordingly. They are smart enough to serve self-interests. However, I refuse to count the power retention that we saw in the recent State elections. Except for Tamil Nadu, all the States saw the earlier ones retaining their hold. The State elections reflect local ...

A war on pandemic: Let the fight be with fairness

The Pandemic is a national issue. However, in our federal system, health care is assigned as a State matter, enabling the Central government to pass the buck to the States. With the immense size of illogical measures, the agony of people keeps mounting.  Now the central government is deeply cornered about the uncontrolled second wave of the pandemic. Many people believe the Centre is responsible for the mismanagement of the second wave. Some believe the State machinery has failed in managing the crisis, because of inadequate infrastructure at their disposal. Lockdown was the popular measure that is used for controlling the spread. However, as the lockdown has proven to be inadequate and damaging for the economy, the Centre is hesitant to take any call on lockdown. ...

The professions which lost their greatness

Human culture and civilisation have passed through several generations. The flow is an infinitive process as it goes. The passage of time has resulted in an erosion of the three professions’ greatness. Along with it, a massive depletion in values that human beings once used to cherish throughout the period of shaping culture and civilisation has now come to a sorry state. Can teachers, doctors and lawyers restore their profession’s majesty? Three professions that have shaped human civilisation are the practices of teaching, medicine and law. Teachers, medical practitioners and lawyers constitute the pack of great men in the world. They were philosophers, visionaries and men of great knowledge. That was the reason in every primitive epic, these three professions were characterized by legend
